At Sartoria Wynona, we believe that clothing should be an extension of oneself, a living testament to one's journey through life. It is with this philosophy in mind that we offer our advanced made-to-measure service—where craftsmanship, refinement, and meticulous aesthetic curation converge to create garments that surpass traditional practices. Among the exquisite fabrics we offer, few materials embody our values as perfectly as Italian cashmere.

The story of cashmere is a tale of tradition, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Located at the foot of the Alps in northern Italy, Biella has long been renowned as the cradle of luxury textiles, where the ancient art of weaving is not just preserved but perfected. For centuries, the mills of Biella have been synonymous with the finest fabrics in the world, and their cashmere is no exception. This region, with its pristine waters and rich heritage, provides the ideal environment for creating cashmere of unparalleled quality.

To fully appreciate the beauty of Italian cashmere, one must first understand the origins of this luxurious fiber. Cashmere comes from the soft undercoat of the cashmere goat, which is native to the high plateaus of Central Asia, particularly in Mongolia, China, and Tibet. These goats have adapted to extreme conditions, growing a warm, downy layer beneath their coarse outer hair to protect them from the harsh winter cold. It is this undercoat that is carefully combed out each spring and transformed into the soft, warm, and lightweight yarn we know as cashmere.

While the origins of cashmere lie far from Italy, it is in the mills of Biella that this raw material is elevated to an art form. The history of textile production in Biella dates back to the Middle Ages, when the region’s abundant rivers provided the perfect source of clean, soft water—essential for washing, dyeing, and finishing fine fabrics. Over the centuries, the weavers and artisans of Biella honed their skills, blending traditional techniques with modern innovations to create fabrics that are revered around the world.
